During migratory seasons, the reserve attracts numerous wader species, such as the Little Stint, Curlew Sandpiper, and the majestic Flamingo.

We offer 4 hour Guided Birding Tours in and around Barberspan Nature Reserve, lead by a knowledgeable guide. These tours are by foot and by car. You can expect to see more than 70 bird species during this time. Book early to avoid disappointment. These tours are offered at R400 per person.
